JOB DESCRIPTION
The goal of this role is to help implement and integrate complex systems within our client’s organizations. This individual will apply deep functional expertise, world class client handling skills, team leadership capabilities, and expert technical skills to support our clients in implementing global change initiatives. The individual in this role will apply industrial engineering, lean, and six sigma principles to improve operations and processes. Will work with senior management to help make major decisions and implement improvements that dramatically increase the performance of our clients’ business by focusing on executable strategy and by integrating industry and functional knowledge in corporate strategy, customer relationships, technology, financial management, supply chain, and operations. The individual in this role will use organizational development leadership skills to influence individuals and organizations to change behavior.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical:
- Integrate clients global change initiatives by working with all levels within our clients company.
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
- Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
- Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities and collect data.
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
- Expertise in MS Excel formulas, Minitab, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, etc…
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) – Draft and design layout of facilities, equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer, simulation modeling and 3D design.
- Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.
- Use Lean, 5S and Six Sigma methodologies to help clients obtain optimal results in their facilities, design Value Steam Maps and Process Maps in detail and efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Projects
- Serve as Project Lead or Project Manager via management of end to end life cycle of major projects.
- Oversee minor projects being led by intermediate level staff under your supervision.
- Perform risk analysis, and manage change control.
- Provide business analysis, business area assessment, and user needs analysis for major projects.
- Conduct comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and prepare business cases for projects.
Business
- Present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and attire.
- Assist with the development of client information management standards and evaluation of technology trends.
- Contribute to business area assessment, user needs analysis and business systems design.
- Assist with comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and preparation of business cases for new projects.
Supervisory
- Supervise and mentor all intermediate and junior level staff assigned as members of your project team.
- Supervise and mentor all intermediate and junior level staff working on other projects under your area of responsibility.
- Assist in employee review and assessment processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Provide a confirmed working history that demonstrates excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving aptitude. Present outstanding leadership capabilities, illustrating proficiency in both verbal and written communications. Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills and abilities.
Prove a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload in order to meet project milestones, implementation deadlines, and team goals.
- Bachelor’s degree and or Masters in Industrial Engineering or related field of study.
- Six Sigma Black Belt required, Master Black Belt Certification preferred.
- 2+ years consulting and project management experience.
- Knowledge of current methodologies, technologies, and standards.
- Supervision of project teams consisting of five personnel or more.
- Excellent analytical and proactive problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate with clarity.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees, managers and top executives.
- Eagerness to contribute in team setting.
- Fully versed in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and MS Word.
- Fluency in English required
- Flexibility to travel 100% to client sites in the US and international
- Must be able to work some weekends.
- Technical writing ability required
