The Challenge:
A leading distributor of medical devices engaged our company to improve the picking process at their network hub. In part, their pickers wasted a lot of time waiting on equipment as there was not enough of the right type.
Results:
We identified bottlenecks in the picking process and collected data to measure productivity and capabilities. Solutions to resolve the bottlenecks included creating a new pick zone and changing the material handling equipment. These improvements increased picking productivity and reduced waste in the process.
